Ruebush Company, Publishers Dayton, Virginia, 1935 Page 73: A William Harrison, so called, of the province of Lygenia, later York County, Maine, witnessed a deed from Geo. Cleeve, Gent., to land at "bla: poynt," the "last day of July, 1648." (See--- York County, Maine, Deeds, Vol. I, Part 1, Fol. 84.) He signed by making his mark, and later records indicate that he was in reality named William Harris. This is for those who are doing research on New England Harris'. Does this man connect up with some of the Virginia Harris'? As far as I can determine, this man is not part of my line. I ran across this while looking at some Yancey information. Ira L.
