Lee Harris and Others; (The line is said to go: Thomas Harris 1586-1658 ; William Harris 1629-1678 m (1) Lucy m (2) Alice who later married George Alves) ; William Harris , Gentleman 1673-1734 m Mary Giles; Thomas Harris b ca 1700 m Elizabeth Lindsey) - Pat Page 43 Personal Will of Thomas Harris In the name of God, Amen, I this twenty sixth day of July, 1782, Thomas Harris of Prince Edward County Virginia, being weak of body but of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make, constitute and declare this my last Will and Testament, in manner as follows:-- That is to say, First: I Will and order all my just debts and funeral expenses be discharged and paid off as soon as conveniently may be, after my decease, by my Executors, hereafter to be named. Item 1: I give and bequeath to my true and well beloved wife, Elizabeth, my plantation whereon I now am dwelling, containing one hundred and fifty acres, less or more, for her and her heirs forever, also my horses, cattle, sheet, hoggs, house lots, furniture, and all the implements of husbandry (for farming) to her and to her heirs forever , and no more. Item 2: I will and order, if any of my estate may be left, after my wife, Elizabeth, is deceased, be equally divided amongst my children, to Witt::: David; John; Peter; Shureed; Elizabeth and Judith; to them and their heirs forever etc., and no more. Lastly: I nominate, constitute and appoint my wife, Elizabeth and my son, David Harris, Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the date above written. Signed, Sealed and Acknowledged, by the said Thomas Harris, to be his last Will and Testament, in presence of us: -- John Simmons Joseph Simmons Richard Peek Thomas (X) Harris (Seal) At a court held for Prince Edward County Virginia, on February 16, 1784, the last Will and Testament of Thomas Harris, deceased, was presented in court and was proved, by two of the witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded. On the motion of Elizabeth and David Harris, Executors therein named, who gave bond and took the oath, required by law, certificate for obtaining Probate thereof, in due form is hereby granted them.
