Ann, I haven't seen the biographical sketches and would like to get the information. Originally, I started searching for Sherod Harris of Pickens/Green County, AL., and rather than finding him, I came across about 6 land records for Charles F. and Lydia Ann Harris, Simeon Harris, Callie T. Womack and later Simeon and Callie T. Harris. Its been several months since I've thought about this particular research but I don't recall ever finding both of them in the census. However, I noticed a census entry for "Callie Harris" in 1870 but never was sure whether it was actually her. One of her land records was quite interesting in that it mentioned that she had to use her estate money to maintain her and her children during the "ravages" of the Civil War. It didn't say whether Simeon was deceased or if the estate was still from her 1st husband. I believe that Callie married William Womack in Dallas County, AL. (I can't remember all of the details.) I'm not sure how this particular Simeon fit into the bigger picture but after finding the information showing that part of the Green / Pickens Counties Harris families had migrated into Louisiana it all made pretty good sense. I also found some evidence that a few of them migrated into Arkansas. I found at least one record of the other probably related Sherrod owning property (something to do with his married daughter) in Arkansas.
