    1. [HH] Will of Parker Collins, Forsy (7/25/03)
    2. This response only took me three months to complete, but Parker Collins ties into my wife's HARRIS line from GA. Her direct line is back to William HARRIS who married Parker COLLINS daughter, Susan. Their family is given below: William Harris Born: 1805 in NC? Died: 1865 married Susan Collins Born: 1818 Died: July 04, 1889 - Cobb County, GA -- according to my notes they married in Forsyth or Cherokee County, GA Children: Emily Harris: Did not live long enough to marry or have children. - James S. Harris married 1st Jennie Hunter married 2nd Wife Pyrene Strickland - Joseph B. Harris married 1st Beuna Vista Deaver married 2nd Wife Rosa B. Chew - William G. Harris: Did not live long enough to marry or have children. - Charles Harris Fact 1: 1/8 Cherokee married Apsilla Bailey - Eliza Jane Savannah Harris married William D. McMakin - John Harris - Colonel Johnson Harris Born: April 19, 1856 married 1st Nannie E. Fields married 2nd Wife Mary Elizabeth Adair married 3rd Wife Caroline Alice Collins Nee Hall - Redbird Harris Born: July 30, 1839 in Forsyth, Georgia married Sarah Ellen Rogers Born: February 28, 1840 in Georgia Married: July 30, 1862 in Georgia - Parker Collins Harris Born: November 09, 1845 Died: 1920, buried in Brushy Mountain Cemetery married Mary Angeline Davis Born: July 18, 1859 in Dekalb County, Alabama, buried in Brushy Mountain Cemetery - Philo Harris Born: 1848 Died: 1933, buried in Brushy Mountain Cemetery According to one of Don Shadburn's books the 3 HARRIS' mentioned in the will are all brothers. I have not been able to find any information any further back on that HARRIS line, but according to some of the census information, William was born in NC. The family is Cherokee in descent, and my wife's HARRIS line descended through Colonel Johnson HARRIS, whose was Cherokee Chief. According to 'Unhallowed Intrusions: A Georgia Journal of Cherokee History and Genealogy.' It states that he was the son of William Harris (died 1865) and Susan Collins. His Cherokee blood came from CJ's mother, Susan Collins, who was the daughter of Nannie Corderoy. Nannie's whose Father was Thomas Corderoy who married Susannah Sonicooie (100% Cherokee Blood). There is an online bio on Chief HARRIS: http://digital.library.okstate.edu/Chronicles/v017/v017p017.html If anyone who has any information on William's siblings or parents, it would be appreciated. Harris and William Harris...required to render inventory...Witnesses the Hon. William Matthews, W.A. Ross, C.C.O. ************* Over the next several pages the processing of this will is documented (all the way up into 1837). Also mentioned in this process is an Abraham Harris and an Ezekiel Harris [no relationship shown] Lucinda Collins evidently married H. Sutton from the way the Second Return of the Estate of Parker Collins, dated July 13, 1834 reads. Rance B. was evidently married to Eliza. Charley was evidently married to Sarah. William was evidently married to Susan. Can anyone tell me what Harris line these men are from? Are they brothers? Are they related to Abraham or Ezekiel? Any insight is appreciated.
