Wanda: Yes, I did mean to say Orange Co., Va. for my Thomas Harris d 1782 family in Orange. There is a Henry Harris mentioned in Orange Co. Volume of The Harris Papers by K. Wiggins as follows: Since this info is 1738--you must map this out--new counties were being formed from Orange in the time period of your Henry and Annie's birthdates. Orange Co. Land Grants - Henry Harris, 400 acres, 1738 in Orange and Hanover, east side of Rapidanne River and Pritty's Creek. p 4 MY NOTE: I've appended below Va County Formation info as submitted to this list by Ira Harris. Orange Co. Order Book #8 1769-1777 p 12, Henry Harris appears as a witness for Edward Williams in his case against Francis Williams On p 6 referencing the Harris marriages in the Orange Co. Marriage Reg. #1, 1757-1867, there is a marriage of Allie Harris & Caleb Norris June 18, 1812--I have penciled a note that Allie/Ally/Olly was dau. of a Henry Harris but didn't note where I got that info. from--so please research that carefully. Ira Harris posted some time ago the Va County Formations to which I filed in my email folder and frequently refer and recommend those early Va researchers keep this list close by--thanks so much, Ira!
