My Grandfather, BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HARRIS B 1857 in Erie, PA (at least according to his death certificate) d Nov 1, 1940 at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI.. He often went by FRANKLIN as is found on his 1879 marriage record to CLARE M. CRAWFORD in Allen County, IN..Clare died before 1910. Hs was a renter, possibly because of his occupation as a blacksmith , living in several counties in Indiana i.e. Allen; whitely; Wabash; and DeKalb Counties. So land records are of no use. No record of him is found after 1900 where he appeared on the 1900 census in Whitely County, IN..d family lived in Wayne County or Oakland by 1910. While his children and there families can be found on census records in MI in 1920 & 1930, Benjamin Franklin Harris CANNOT be found Hewas living in Southfield, MI at time of his death. I do not know if he ever remarried. I met him once when I was very young. Know next to nothing about his family or if he ever had siblings. Anyone that can find him on a census or any other vitals, please reply. He is buried in Holy Septulcure(sp) Cemetery in Southfield, MI old an obit be available from Nov 1, 1940?
