Moved to Mecklenburg Co. where he entered service in 1776 in Minutemen Company commanded by Capt. James Anderson. Drafted in 1779 under Capt. Charles Clay & Col. Lewis Burwell. Served in 1781 under Capt. Robert Smith and Col. Robert Mumford. Moved in 1784 to North Carolina and in 1788 to Mercer County, Kentucky, and later to Clarke County, Kentucky.
