Finally there is a question I have some information about. This is information I collected from many different sources in the search for my Thomas Harris from VA. So far I have had no luck, but I have learned about some other Harris families. I will try to give my sources, but I may miss some inadventently. Richard J (or I) Harris who married Phebe Harris was the s/o Richard Harris who died leaving a will in Cumberland in 1817. According to a descendant, Sue Hawks, Richard married Sarah Unk. This Richard m. Sarah is the person frequently and incorrectly stated to be the son of John Harris and Martha Eldridge. HE IS NOT that Richard Harris. He,Richard, who m. Sarah UNK is the son of John Harris who left a will 1795 Cumberland Co. naming a wife Eliza and children including Richard. Thomas Harris who married Jane Taylor is the son of Richard Harris (d. 1817 Cumberland). Anthony Hudgens named on the marriage record married Elizabeth Harris, sister of Thomas and d/o Richard who d. 1817). Next I am posting the Holmes Bible Record. Sallie E. J. Isaac Pryor & Sarah A. Harris was married by 3 July 1827. Urial Homes & Sally E. J. Harris married 21, Jan 1838. John Watson & Martha Ann Harris married 11 May 1840. Phoebe E. Watson born Dec 24, 1845. Richard Harris was born the 14 May in the year of our Lord 1798. John Harris was born 6 May 1779. Elizabeth Harris was born 30 Sept. 1890? (1790?) Thomas Harris was bon 4 April 1784. L. A. Harris daughter of SHLCH (I believe this to be Samuel Harris & Lucy C.) his wife born 1890 S. A. Harris, dau. of SH & LCH his wife, was born 10 May 1811. J. R. Hudgens born 6 Jan 1813. A. G. Hudgens born 16 June 1816. ? Another, born 9 Jan. 1822. Phoebe Harris born 25 Nov. in the year of our Lord AD 1799. Thomas S. Harris, son of Samuel born 27 Jan. 1813. G. W. Harris, son of Samuel born 23 Oct. 1815. John (S.L.or P?) Harris son of Samuel born 27 May 1817 AD. S. (P?) A. Harris, daughter of Jno Harris V. A. Mary Harris, daughter of R. J. Harris & Phoebe, died 9 Oct. 1828 AD. L. M. Harris, daughter of R. J. & Phoebe Harris deceased on 10 Oct. 1828 AD. Sally E. J. Homes departed this life on 4 Mar. in the year of our Lord 1870? Richard J. Harris departed this life 29 April 1882 AD. John Harris departed this life on 30 June 1851 AD. Thomas R. Harris departed this life 17 Sept 1876 AD. THIS BIBLE BELONGED TO URIAL HOLMES, JR. SOMEONE IN TEXAS HAD THIS BIBLE, POSSIBLY A RELATIVE & URIAL BOUGHT IT FROM THEM.
