RE: Lewis Harris b ca 1810/Mildred Naylor I cannot link up your Lewis Harris at this time. I think only Y DNA or the Family Finder will give you any answers. Possibly someone else has H. A. T. Harris in a file. We are missing a Lewis Lindsey or Lindsey Lewis Harris in the DNA 8 camp, but I can't say your Lewis would fit without some dna studies ?? Pat Per the record, Margaret Foote married Ephraim Drake Harris in 1814 Peggy Foot Groom: Ephraim D Harris Bride: Peggy Foot Bond Date: 17 Nov 1814 Bond #: 000144240 Level Info: North Carolina Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868 ImageNum: 002656 County: Surry Record #: 01 096 Bondsman: John Foote Source Information: Ancestry.com. Apparently Ephraim Drake was a popular name of the time! The children I do have: Ephraim Drake Harris ca 1816 /Margaret Foote Enoch S. Harris ca 1825/Paulina Louisa Moore Fletcher Asbury Harris ca 1820 /Sarah Hennie Moore (sis to Paulina) Sarah Melissa Harris maybe William B. Harris/Sarah Redwine This DNA 8 family has been confused with another Ephraim Drake Harris born 1765 NJ d ca 1816 Cabarrus NC ....it's not the same. Pat In a message dated 8/30/2012 12:23:17 A.M. They had one child - H.A.T. (Hillary Asbeth Taylor) Harris born 1835 and then Lewis died 10 August 1836 in Surry County. H.A.T. Harris named one of his sons Ephraim Drake Harris and I can't help but wonder if there is a connection. I have not been able to connect my Lewis Harris to any Harris' in Surry County as of yet. Was Fletcher Asbury also a popular name of the time? I ask because H.A.T. Harris (son of Lewis) named another of his sons that exact same name. Fletcher Asbury Harris. Unfortunately DNA will probably not help in my case - my Harris line daughtered out in the generation after H.A.T.'s sons Ephraim Drake Harris and Fletcher Asbury Harris. I will continue the search for a family for my Lewis Harris. :) Thanks for your help!
