Hi, everyone, More on Benjamin & Sarah Dumas Harris & family. I believe, however, that I made an error earlier in the posting of this line, and feel I must correct it (and apologize for my mistake.) In Part 4 of this series, I stated that Virginia Lee Hutcheson Davis gave the marriage date of Benjamin & Sarah Dumas Harris, and that she gave her source as the Draper Papers. When I looked again at her book, I discovered that the source Virginia cited was NOT the Draper Papers, but the Woolfolk Papers. The Woolfolk Family Papers, 1775-1893, are 7,000 individual items of the Woofolk family of Caroline Co., VA in the Rare Manuscript Collection at the Earl Gregg Swem Library at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia (the call number is Mss. 39.1 W88.) These records were donated to the college in 1937 and 1939. Unfortunately, my friend Virginia Lee Hutcheson Davis did NOT cite what exact page or pages in this huge collection that she found these Harris family records on (and as she is now deceased, I can no longer ask her for the correct sources.) I don't have access any more to Interlibrary Loan services, and I live in Florida, so I cannot further research this manuscript collection. Can anyone else? If you can, please do HELP. Thanks!
