Ah well, here is the summary of my HARRIS brickwall: ---------------------- SARAH "Sally" HARRIS m. JOSEPH JOHNSON, s/o John JOHNSON Sr-Mary PLEDGE *their exact date of marriage was NOT listed in the Douglas Register ...presumed married in Goochland Co., but long before Rev. Douglas arrived *Sarah and Joseph lived in Goochland Co., right on the border with Louisa Co. *1st 2 children's births, and youngest child's birth, NOT listed in Douglas Reg. ...the 1st 2 children born before Rev. Douglas, unk reason for the last child *Per Joseph's 1781 Will; he "was her one and only husband" *Sarah died after 1781 and probably well before 1790 *Sarah had no written Will, her estate dispersal was listed (1781) in Joseph's Strongly suspect either her father's name was also John, or was probably David, as these were the first two sons for Sarah and Joseph...with a lesser possibility of either Benjamin or Thomas, as these were the only other boy names given to her children. Strongly suspect that Sarah's mother's name may be; Ann "Nancy." The birth sequence of names used coincidentally match Joseph's parents; 1-John, 2-Mary. Joseph's parents were, John JOHNSON Sr. m. Mary PLEDGE, so a serious possibility. The next two children were 3-Ann "Nancy" and 4-David, which if they were following a somewhat common naming practice of the time, could indicate Sarah's parent's names. Then sons 5-Benjamin and 6-Thomas, had their baptisms recorded in The Douglas Register. David died in early childhood, and was recorded in the back of The Douglas Register. Their youngest, 7-Patsy, single in 1781...but did m., recorded Douglas Register. ---------------------- I am currently side-tracked a bit, because I am back in college after 40+ years, but...as always, I am interested in trying to find our Sarah's HARRIS family.
