These are some recent Harris names in my lineage...... My father was Harvey Milton Harris. He was in the Army in WWI. He was born in Mountain City, NV. and died in California. His father was Levi Harris, G father, Alvin Harris, GGrandfather Levi (as far as I can find) and GGGrandfather, Nathan Harris. Most of the family emigrated to what was Oregon Territory and became Idaho. Their residence is recorded as Bruneau, Idaho, which is located in the SW part of the state. They originally settled on homesteads, which were purchased by the U.S. Gov't. and turned into Duck Valley Reservation. The family then moved to Bruneau. My father married my mother, Grace Brown; d/o Charles Albert Brown and Elsie Lenore (Dinwiddie) Brown. Charles A. Brown was s/o Albert Brown and Adeline ? who were both born in Illinois and emigrated to what became Ontario, Oregon (actually their homestead was between Ontario and Vale, Oregon). Charles Albert Brown; s/o Albert and Adeline (Addie) Brown married Elsie (Dinwiddie); d/o Joseph Dinwiddie and Laura (King) of Walla Walla, Wa. [They had a ranch outside of Jordon Valley, Or.] Grace Brown was d/o Charles Albert Brown and Elsie (Dinwiddie) Brown. I am saving the postings for future research. I have been trying to get past my great-grandparents unsuccessfully for years. My Grandfather is Gillum Edgar Harris b. 24 March 1884 in KY, d 1936 in CO. His mother was Ermine Edgar b. Dec 1847 in KY. His Father was George Harris b.? d ? also of KY. George had a brother James who signed a selective service form for Gillum in Sept of 1918. It appears that George was deceased by that time as his mother was listed as a widow at her death also in 1918. Can anyone in this Harris group connect to this Harris line? I have no male Harris descendents to test DNA. Thank you.
