Discovery - I have found on Ancestry.com Genealogical Publ's book Virginia Land Records--and some entries for Hanover Co. VA--in the pages . (Of course, this is kind of like a scrapbook--some citations and some not. These were submissions to such as Tyler's Quarterly, William and Mary Quarterly, etc. For Pat--there are some Sneads whose naming patterns don't seem to match those of my kin of colonial Granville Co., NC later of Person Co., NC. But, who knows? Deloris--Some folks (or at least their namesakes) later found in Granville Co--at least in the Lord Granville land patents compiled by Margaret M. Hofmann, Vol. 2-- are found in Hanover Co. VA land records--namely Luke Waldrop and probably the descendants of Henry Graves [2nd wife reportedly Mary Williams, per Martha Hiden's abstracts re Graves families. This Mary Williams is reportedly a sister of John Williams II, who migrated from Goochland Co., VA [good records]to Granville Co. in the mid 1740s.] Luke Waldrop of Hanover but later of Granville Co. is a person of interest--he was mainly illiterate, but he was a witness to 1759 NC will of my ancestor, Daniel Williams (wife Ursala, whom I suspecting may have been a sister of either Luke or his wife [always suspicious!]. And I am beginning to collect suspicious characters with the surname Trevillian [variant spellings] Could Luke's wife and Daniel's wife have been sisters? Some suspicious documents here and there. (And how many Southerners were there in the 1740s?) E.W.Wallace
