June 14, 1793 in Burke County, NC Benjamin b. November 31, 1798 William Berry b. August, 26 1798 in VA/NC Catherine Carolina (Catie) b. November 6, 1800 in NC Mary Polly b. March 11, 1803 in NC note: There seems to be an incorrect birthdate listed for either Benjamin and my William Berry may be a typo listing them born in the same year. William Berry d. January 6, 1875 in Fayette County, IL spouse: Sarah H. Dodson b. September 29, 1802 in North Carolina child: Elizabeth Harris b. 1836 spouse: Pleasant Franklin Scribner, JR b. 1833 child: Sarah Ellen Scribner b. 1862 in Bingham, Fayette County, IL d. 1958 Vandalia, IL burial Harris cemetery Fayette Co, spouse: Anthony Thornton Garland b. January 23, 1867 They had several children one of which was my g-grandfather William Whitfield Garland. The following is my second connection to the Harris line, it is not as complete as I don't have dates as of yet. Catherine Carolina (Catie) married James Thomas Hicks Alfred R. Hicks married Elizabeth Davis Jasper Marion Hicks married Sarah Caroline Herrin Charles E. Hicks married Della Filora Carlock and their daughter Florence Cecale Hicks was my g-grandmother and she married William Whitfield Garland the son of Sarah Ellen Scribner and Anthony Garland. Please forgive any errors this was typed with the help of my 2 young children. Does anyone have any of the above listed in their lines? We were told that we were of Native American descent and am curious if other Harris' were told the same and if there is any merit to it.
