    3. This is in reply to Gwena ZIKE's (dzk217@consolidated.net) Apr. 14, 2004, posting to the HARRIS-HUNTERS-L@rootsweb.com list titled "Harris' Brunswick county VA, Rutherford & Burke counties in NC, and Fayette county IL." I do not find information in my database at this time about either your gr-gr.-grandmother, Della Filora CARLOCK, or your gr.-gr.-grandfather Charles E. HICKS, but would be very much interested in any additional information that you may wish to share with regard to them or their descendants. Do you have any additional information about Della Filora CARLOCK's ancestry so that we can connect her to the rest of the CARLOCK/CEARLOCK family tree? It appears that, through my gr.-gr.-grandparents, Joseph Edward "Edward/Ed" CEARLOCK (1870 - 1935) and his wife Mary Elizabeth HICKS (1870 - 1937), I am related to you in several different ways. My line from Ed and Mary is as follows: Joseph Edward CEARLOCK and Mary Elizabeth HICKS Claude Abner CEARLOCK Voris Carney CEARLOCK Rex Duane "Duane" CEARLOCK Susan Elaine "Sue" CEARLOCK First, I am twice descended from Isaac HARRIS whom you mention. My two HARRIS lines to Ed and Mary are as follow: Isaac HARRIS Wooten HARRIS William B. HARRIS Frances Jane HARRIS Elilia B. "Emily" SEARS Mary Elizabeth HICKS who m. Joseph Edward CEARLOCK Third, my CARLOCK/CEARLOCK line from George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1779, NC, to the above-mentioned Joseph Edward CEARLOCK is as follows. I believe, but do not yet have proof, that George was s/o David CARLOCK, Frederick CARLOCK, David GERLACH/CARLOCK, Hans GERLACH, as shown in the following report which appears on my home page: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/t/i/l/Susan-E-Tilleman/GENE18-0001.html George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK Abraham CARLOCK/CARELOCK John Henry CARLOCK/CEARLOCK James Robert "Robert" CEARLOCK Joseph Edward "Edward/Ed" CEARLOCK who m. Mary Elizabeth HICKS Additional information about my ancestry can be found in the following report which appears on my home page: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/t/i/l/Susan-E-Tilleman/GENE11-0001.html Further discussion regarding the ancestry of George W. CARLOCK/CEARLOCK, b. ca. 1779, NC, can be found in the archives of the CEARLOCK list through the following site: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/c/cearlock.html Susan Cearlock Tilleman List Administrator of the CARLOCK and CEARLOCK Lists http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/t/i/l/Susan-E-Tilleman/?Welcome=1082568627 ----- ARCHIVED MESSAGE----- http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/HARRIS-HUNTERS/2004-04/1081956864 FROM: "Darren and Gwena" dzk217@consolidated.net TO: HARRIS-HUNTERS-L@rootsweb.com SENT: Wed, 14 Apr 2004 10:34:24 -0500 SUBJECT: Harris' Brunswick county VA, Rutherford & Burke counties in NC, and Fayette county IL My Harris ancestors. Please forgive any errors this was typed with the help of my 2 young children. Does anyone have any of the above listed in their lines? We were told that we were of Native American descent and am curious if other Harris' were told the same and if there is any merit to it. I was told this by my family and my distant cousin who I've never met was told the same as was my half unce whom I just met this year. (Gotta love the internet) Thank you for reading my book.
