I'm seeking information about the family of my 3rd g-grandmother, Ruth Harris. She was supposedly born in 1794, and married John Setzer in Hardin County on August 20, 1818. John Setzer and family were found to live next door to Nancy Harris who was in the 16-26 age group while Ruth was in the 26-45. I'm wondering if Nancy Harris might possibly be the widow of Stephen Harris, son of John Mayhew Harris. If not, maybe someone can help me find out who Nancy Harris was and how Ruth might be placed in this large family of Harris' in Hardin County, KY. The other possibility is that Ruth was the daughter of Samuel Harris and Susannah Mayhew. Ruth and John moved to Gentry Co., MO before 1850 with John's brother, Samuel. My g-g-grandparents moved to Gentry County via Davis County, IA, arriving in Gentry County by 1858. After reading some of the entries about the Harris' family who moved to Davis County, I'm wondering if my g-g-grandmother, Nancy Ellen Setzer, might have lived near some of her Harris aunts and/or uncles before moving on to Missouri. My g-grandfather, Hiram McClure, s/o Nancy Ellen Setzer, for some reason went to Davis County in/or around 1880 when he was married there. Who did he stay with while in Davis County? Thanks, Judy
