Harris III Evansville, Indiana Response: I am going to take a wild guess as to the identity of Harris Craig. Unfortunately, I do not have as many books on Madison Co., KY as I should like. This marriage was recorded in Madison Co., KY in 1865 (after the Civil War) Craig, William, mercant, 2nd mar, born & resides in Lincoln Co., 29 [age]; mar Oct 9 65 [1865] to: Harris, Callie, 23. Bnd: Hughes, J. S. Bk 8-207 (From Bill & Kathy Vockery, Madison County Kentucky Marriage Records, Vol III, 1852-1876 [Cross referenced with Vital Statistics] [Richmond, KY: Published by authors, 1995], p. 16) Comment: I have no idea of the parentage of Callie Harris. Because she is age 23, she is of age and she did not require consent of parent to marry. Perhaps a search of Harrises in 1850 or 1860 census may reveal her parents. Is she sister of Edney [Edna] nee Harris? Any other clues to identity of young Harris Craig, nephew? E.W.Wallace
