Carol and All, I have posted this info several times over the last year or so but here goes. My great grandfather was Andrew Jackson Harris b: Sept 7th 1858 in either Tn or Ky, some census say Tn some say Ky. he married Margaret Ellen Blythe b: May 8th 1869 in Ky. she was the daughter of Allen Blythe and Sarah Short, they were from Cumberland and Monroe counties as far as i can tell, some people have her listed as part of the David Blythe and Margaret Logans son John Allen Blythe family. however i have found her listed in census with her father Allen A. Blythe so im not sure if the Allen A Blythe was a typo or if his name was John Allen Blythe and they called him Allen or what. Anyway, Andrew Jackson Harris died in Aug. 1957 in Jackson County at the home of his daughter and his death certificate says his father was David Harris. in the census where it states where parents were born it usually says Andrews parents were born in VA. but i think on one it says Ky. Andrew and Margaret had the following children. Elmore b: Oct 1886 m. Myrtle Scott from Adair Co Ky. William B. b: March 1888 Monroe Co. Ky. ( I have this info but cant think of it off the top of my head) Tim Clurie b: April 1898 Kentucky m: Elizabeth Thompson of Nelson Co. Ky. Thomas Bedford Harris b: Jan 1901 Monroe Co. Ky m: Edith Whittaker of Jeffersontown Ky. Zora (twin) b:1905 Cumberland Co. Ky. m: Raymond Locke of Indiana. Della (twin) B; 1905 Cumberland Co.Ky. m: Mike Cornelius of Indiana in about 1920 the part of the family moved to Indianapolis Indiana, William, John and Elmore moved at a later date i think but all eventually moved to Indiana. My dad took the DNA test and our closest match with the surname Harris seems to be Elijah on the list but he wasnt close enough for us to be in the same group so i still dont have any leads. hope some one has some ideas for me, anything at all would be much appreciated.
