>Hi All: I was also wondering how you can share family information on this >Harris DNA site and also who is the contact for them. The contact information is at http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=Q41837&special=true Although this project was begun by people researching Harris families in Virginia, some samples from other Harris families are also included. If it gets too big to manage, then I suppose we may split up into subgroups, but that's up to the coordinator. >I'm also wondering why >all the names listed had birth dates that said abt. such and such a date. >Most of us have the exact date of these ancestors we spring from. I can only speak for our Harris sample, but I expect other people have similar gaps in their knowledge - that's one of the reasons we're so eager to link to other Harris families by DNA. My best estimate of our earliest ancestor's date of birth and birthplace comes from the 1850 census. If I knew exactly when and where he was born, I'd probably also know his parents, and then he wouldn't be the earliest known ancestor. -- Elizabeth Harris ncgen@mindspring.com NCGenWeb project: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncgenweb/ (Davie, Forsyth, and Stokes Co.
