I think there is some confusion in the following item: "1)Wm Harris who wrote his will 1 Feb 1678 and probated 20 Apr 1678." The information I have is that Wm Harris wrote his will on 20 Apr 1678, and it was probated on 1 Feb 1678. I know that sounds impossible, but remember that at that time the new year did not begin until March. Thus 1 Feb 1678 was 1 Feb 1679 by the modern calendar. These dates are consistent with Major William Harris's death on 23/24 Aug 1678 and do not suggest that these were two different Wm. Harrises. Charles Harris
