    3. Sandrah, It wasn't my intention to be mean. Just to be factual. If the Harris family wants to play nice and get along, then why don't we all help each other out and get the colonial period heritage figured out for everyone? I have run into a few Harrises recently who I think are being mean to me by not participating in the DNA project. What's the big deal? There is no blood drawn. It is a simple cotton swab of the mouth. There are a few of us that are not just lazy. We have Harris ancestors who died suddenly. They didn't have time to leave a will. Their children were very young and didn't know the family history to pass it along. Some of us will never know our roots without DNA participation. It turns out that my GGGG grandfather Harris did indeed die of a killer flu epidemic in 1807. He most likely died in less than a week from exposure. His son, my GGG Grandfather, was only four years old at the time. Thanks to one DNA participant, we know that we are IOW Virginia Harrises. Thank god for her generosity in helping us out. I would like to figure out the other missing peaces now. 3. Not all Harris families can afford to do the DNA testing. Unfortunately, my finances and those of my family are limited and we are unable to afford the testing. I would love to be able to afford to do it with my father. My father, George Wesley Harris, is 85, the son of John Harris and Susan Elizabeth Stewart, grandson of Hampton Harris and Lavinia West, great grandson of Thompson Harris and Nancy Ursery. Documented on his father's death certificate info given by his sister, name of parents, Hampton Harris and Lavinia West Harris. Rest of linage is from sources on line and Huxford's Pioneers of Wire Grass Georgia. There doesn't appear to be any reliable history further back than Thompson and Nancy Ursery Harris. Provided there were no surprises in the family linage, I believe his DNA would help to identify Thompson's ancestors. I am trying to save enough to have the test done. There, I have had my say. Sincerely, Christine Harris Boyette MAY YOU ALWAYS WALK WITH ANGELS
