It is a quote from "Toward a History of the Marable Families" and refers to the "howse and lands belonging to John Harris, Taylor. signed by George Marable and John Harris. An Ancestry.com entry Dec.27,2002 posted by hemack@rmaonline.net shows Jean Harris of James City, a tailor, with sons Jean (born 1675) and Benjamin(born 1677). It lists the death of Jean Harris, tailor as 1726. >www.ls.net/~newriver/va/manakin.htm < has several references to Jean Herries and /or Jean Harris, born 1677, which may or may not be the tailor's son.
