Wood, a Billups descendant, preserved in the family Joseph Billups and his wife Ann, after they were married in England, came to Virginia and settled in Lunenburg County. They had sons, John, Christopher, Richard, and Robert. Robert Billups, of Mecklenburg County, Virginia (will dated October 17, 1797, probated in Mecklenburg County, April 9, 1798), married Lucy (last name unknown), and had: Virginia, Robert, and Mariah. Virginia Billups married Walton Harris, of Georgia, and had: 1. Walton Harris, a lawyer 2. Eliza Harris, who married a Mr. Boothe 3. Caroline Harris, who married Dr. Gibbs 4. Augustine Harris, who removed to Alabama 5. Milton Harris (d. in infancy) 6. Catherine Harris (d. in infancy) 7. Robert Harris, married twice (lived in Clarke Co., Ga.) 8. Mary Ann Harris, who married Dr. Swift 9. Young L. G. Harris, of Athens, Georgia 10. Jeptha Harris, of Columbus, Georgia 11.
