the following charlotte co, va deed shows that land my mackerness goode, sr sold to james watkins bounded his brother william goode and peter hamblin/ hamlin. in fact, this is the charlotte co, va deed wherein my mackerness goode, sr, sold his land there in charlotte co, va ere his moving to laurens co, sc. i have a follow-up to this charlotte co, va deed stating that land this james watkins later sold to mackerness goode, who was the son of william goode, had belonged to mackerness goode, the elder, who was now in south carolina. these two deeds re my mackerness goode, sr, were sent to me years ago and when i was focusing on our families in laurens co, sc. her husband was connected somehow to my goode family. again, my paper files are a mess and i still have only been able to find a portion of this later deed, which i will also cite. the following charlotte co, va deed also shows that in 1772 james watkins also sold land to peter hamblin, which was witnessed by m. goode and phillip jones. this m./ mackerness goode, who witnessed this 1772 charlotte co, va deed was the son of william goode, brother of my mackerness goode, sr. again, my mackerness goode, sr; his brother, william goode, etc were the sons of our samuel goode/ martha jones of henrico co, va and she was the daughter of phillip jones of henrico co, va and this was her brother phillip jones, jr, who had also moved to lunenburg co, va and who continued to be involved with my goode family there. charlotte co, va deed book 3, page 47, 1772, james watkins of charlotte co, va to peter hamlin of same for 22 pds, 114 acres in charlotte co, va on the branches of sandy creek and bounded by stokes line on kings road, elam, hamlin's own line. signed: james watkins. witnesses: m. goode; phillip jones, his mark. my mackerness goode, sr also signed with a mark. again, this m. goode, who witnessed this deed was the son of william goode, brother of my mackerness goode, sr. again, here are the following deeds re my mackerness goode, sr, which someone sent to me years earlier. she did not cite herself exactly which deed books they were in and i have not tried to find them. although obviously interested in my goode family, my focus has been more on my harris family, which has, indeed, been a challenge. 1766 Aug 4, Mackerness Goode of Cornwall Parrish, Charlotte co, VA to James Watkins of ?
