i am going to come back and talk later about other info that relates to memucan hunt and his being involved with samuel harris, who, again, is shown to have been the same samuel harris also involved with thomas dendy and, of course, was the same samuel harris involved with both william harris/ judith hudson and my william harris, sr/ frances goode there in lunenburg co, va and who were all early in cornelius cargill's district, etc, but, for now, i want to continue to talk about these walker family connections with my harris family, etc. again, memucan walker, who witnessed our patrick cunningham's/ ann harris 1796 laurens co, sc will, and which i also have more to say about, was the son of sylvanus walker, son of tandy walker/ judith langford, and, as shown, memucan walker had also witnessed this laurens co, sc deed re our patrick and ann harris cunningham to john pinson. laurens co, sc deed book F, page 140, 1796, patrick cunningham and wife, ann, to john pinson for $25, 32 acres on the east side of the road from the laurens court house to swancey's ferry, part of 300 acre grant to richard carter, conveyed to his oldest son and heir, john carter. witnesses: memucan walker, howard pinson, john cunningham. george anderson, j.p. i want to talk about these connections because they show not only that patrick cunningham was involved there with the walkers and my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers, but that patrick cunningham was also involved with my carter family there in laurens co, sc. this was my richard carter, who had moved to laurens co, sc also ca 1770 from frederick co, va and this john carter, per this deed, was the brother of my robert carter, sr, whose son robert carter, jr was the father of my elizabeth carter harris, who married my arch harris, son of my charles harris/ jane cannon, ca 1826 and in laurens co, sc before my harris and carter families even moved to dekalb and gwinnett cos, ga in or by 1830. again, these pinson connections re both my charles harris and my carter family are also important and i am going to repeat these but, first, i want to talk about patrick cunningham and more also about his connections with my carter family. first of all, patick cunningham and his brothers john and robert cunningham, who also moved to this same laurens co, sc/ 96th dist, sc area, were the sons of john cunningham of tinkling springs, augusta co, va. this was also patrick cunningham's related cunningham family also in lunenburg/ charlotte co, va who, like my rodgers family, were part of these scot-irish presbyterian families, who had moved from lancaster co, pa to amelia/ lunenburg/ charlotte co, va with john caldwell, who established the noted colony on cubb creek which is now in charlotte co, va. whereas i cannot prove it per se, it it would definitely seem that it was per these connections re the cunninghams also with my harris family and my rodgers family, etc, in lunenburg/ charlotte cos, va, that patrick cunningham would have met and married our ann harris, sister of my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers, children of my william harris, sr/ frances goode. patrick cunningham and his brothers john and robert cunningham also served as loyalist leaders in this same laurens/ 96th dist, sc area during the revolutionary war. if the war between the states was a sad, bloody time with brother against brother, this 96th dist, sc area was also like this during the revolutionary war. info shows that my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers served as a captain in the revolutionary war there in laurens co, sc in col joseph hayes little river regiment. this was the same col hayes and others, again, also significantly involved with my harris family, etc, there in laurens co, sc, who were killed in the hayes station massacre there in laurens co, sc by bloody "bill" cunningham, who was a cousin of patrick cunningham and his brothers. also, per these laurens co, sc/ 96th dist, sc records, all of my richard carter's sons, except for my robert carter, sr, served with our major patrick cunningham/ ann harris and, like patrick cunningham's brother, robert cunningham, this was our richard carter's son james carter, who both also moved to hants co, nova scotia. in fact, our james carter gave patrick cunningham power of attorney re his selling his land in laurens co, sc. laurens co, sc deed book E, page 83, 1790/ 1793, james carter, formerly of 96th dist, sc and now of rawdon, hants co, nova scotia, to patrick cunningham and anthony golden of little river in laurens co, sc power of attorney to sell 225 acres on cain creek, 125 acres purchased from my father, richard carter, and 100 acres granted to me, to james nickles also of rawdon, hants co, nova scotia. witnesses: william dinsmore, thomas pearson. thomas pearson, j. p. hants co, nova scotia. this thomas peason also in hants co, nova scotia , who witnessed this deed re our james carter and who was also j.p., was col thomas pearson, who had also served in the revolutionary war as a loyalist in this 96th, dist/ union co, sc area. col thomas pearson was the son of enoch pearson, whose daugher tabitha pearson married my ancestor stacey cooper as his 1st wife. my stacy cooper married 2nd elizabeth townsend, daughter of john townsend/ elizabeth pearson sister of enoch pearson. stacy cooper/ elizabeth townsend were the parents of my james cooper/ rebecca darby, whose daughter ann cooper married my james harris, son of my arch harris/ elizabeth carter, in 1849 in cobb/ paulding co, ga. my coopers; my carters; my townsends; and my pearsons all trace back to these bucks co, pa/ chester co, pa, etc, quaker familes where it is shown, per the quaker records, that they knew and were involved with each other there. laurens co, sc deed book E, page 85, 1793, patrick cunningham, esq, and anthony golden, attorneys for james carter to james nickles for 100 pds, 125 acres on cain creek, part of a grant 6/ 25/1769 to richard carter conveyed to james carter by richard carter and wife, margaret, whereon richard carter formerly lived and bordered by robert carter and benjamin carter. witnesses: lewis saxon; william dunlap. john hunter, j.p. again, this same john pinson and his son, howard pinson, who our patrick and ann harris cunningham sold this land to on cain creek that bordered on my richard carter, and which was witnessed by memucan walker, was also very involved with my carter family and also with my charles harris/ jane cannon there in laurens co, sc. again, both my robert carter, sr and robert carter, jr witnessed john pinson's laurens co, sc will and, again, my charles harris/ jane cannon witnessed the laurens co, sc deed wherein john pinson sold land to his son, howard pinson, which bordered on my robert carter, sr and patrick cunningham. laurens co, sc will book D-1, page 46, 1811, john pinson, deceased, will proven by robert carter, sr and robert carter, jr; howard pinson and thomas pinson qualify as executors. Legatees: wife: betsy; sons: john; howard; thomas; and aaron pinson; son-in-laws: william strain; richard duty; cornelius puckett; thomas weathers; executors: sons: thomas and howard pinson. witnesses: robert carter, sr; robert carter, jr; richard puckett. laurens co, sc deed book H, page 247, 1807, john pinson to thomas pinson for $150, 130 acres on the west side of cain creek, bordered on robert carter, patrick cunningham, deceased, duty's spring branch. witnesses: charles harris; howard pinson. jonathan johnson, j.p. again, by 1830, my robert carter, jr; my charles harris/ jane cannon; and my arch harris/ elizabeth carter had moved to dekalb/ gwinnett cos, ga. again, whereas my charles harris was on the 1830 census for dekalb co, ga, my arch harris was living near my robert carter, jr in gwinnett co, ga. in 1832, my robert carter, jr; his 2nd wife, sarah mc daniel carter; my jane cannon harris, along with martin and mary peek ingram, etc, were charter members of the concord baptist church in cobb co, ga and in 1834, my charles harris/ jane cannon; my arch harris/ elizabeth carter; and my robert carter, jr/ sarah mc daniel were all on the ga state census for cobb co, ga, settling in cobb/ paulding cos, ga. this was also my charles harris/ jane cannon's daughter, and sister of my arch harris, lucinda harris who married james carter, brother of my elizabeth carter harris and son also of my robert carter, jr, ca 1834 in cobb co, ga. so, besides these connections that memucan walker had with our patrick and ann harris cunningham and that he and sarah cargill clary had witnessed our patrick cunningham/ ann harris 1796 laurens co, sc will, etc, what these laurens co, sc deeds and records also show is that my/ our harris family would have known and been involved with my carter family there in laurens co, sc, per both their connections with our patrick and ann harris cunningham, a long time before my harris and carter familes ever moved from laurens co, sc to dekalb and gwinnett cos, ga. to be continued: belva harris cauthen harris dna group 8-------26910
