About a week ago, Belva posted a message from the VA-SOUTHSIDE list regarding Flat Creek of Bedford Co, Lunenburg Co. and Amelia Co. From the Buckholtz maps of 1859: Flat Creek of Lunenburg Co. is located in present-day Mecklenburg Co. in the eastern part of the county (fairly close to Brunswick Co.). It appears that it flows into the Roanoke River. Flatt Creek of Amelia Co. flows south to north across the western part of Amelia Co., then curves to the east and flows into the Appomattox. Its headwaters are in the northwestern part of Nottoway, but most of the creek is located in Amelia Co. and it is quite long. These two creeks are no where near one another. Pat Seaver
