here is also some of the info i posted previously re hans hendrick/ margaret wynn's association with our patrick cunningham/ ann harris;  my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers and the same burgess family, etc, in laurens co, sc.   this was also joel burgess' daughter, who married william wynne hendrick, son of hans and margaret wynne hendrick, who was the daughter of col william wynne of halifax/ pittsylvania cos, va.   laurens co, sc deed book F, page 441, 1798, william harriss to john cunningham for $85, spanish milled, 200 acres on duncans creek and little river, all my part of a 1796 survey to patrick cunningham and william harriss for 500 acre grant 2/ 6/ 1799 to john and robert cunningham and said william harriss.  witnesses:  elijah burgess; thomas redden.  zech bailey, j.p. dower renunciation of wife, frances harriss.     ( deed also says that my frances rodgers harris was the widow of my william harris, jr by 5/ 13/ 1799 and my frances rodgers harris, daughter of my john rodgers, esq, also died in 1801 in laurens co, sc.  my john rodgers, sr/ esq was the son of andrew rodgers, sr, who died in 1755 in  lunenburg, now charlotte co, va. )   again, william wynne hendrick, son of hans and margaret wynne hendrick, married a daughter of joel burgess and per the info, the burgess family had moved to laurens co, sc from bedford co, va.   laurens will book C-1, page 32, 1803, will of joel burgess, legatees included his wife: ellen; sons: william; elijah; joel; walter; john; thomas; rowland burgess; daus: jenny; salley; nelly; betsy; and son-in-law, william wynn hendrick and his dau tabitha. exec: wife, ellen and sons, joel and rowland burgess.  wit:  ezekiel rowland; thomas babb; and william nelson.   the following laurens co, sc deed connects margaret wynne hendrick, widow of hans hendrick, with her son micajah hendrick, who was still in pittsylvania co, va.   laurens deed book B, page 223, 1787, micajah hendrick of pittsylvania co, va to my mother, margaret, widow of hans hendrick, decd, of 96th dist, deed of gift of 450 acres in two tracts on north side of reedy bordered on patrick cunningham; thomas carter; richard lanyard; henry parker; mary adkins; sarah bowman; for and during her natural life. wit:  lewis banton; edmond ware; michael lawless. george anderson, j.p.   hans hendrick/ margaret wynne, who is said to have been the daughter of col william wynne of lunenburg/ halifax/ pittsylvania co, va, was the son of hans hendrick who died in amelia co, va.   this hans hendrick' s daughter, per his amelia co, va will,  had a daughter, sarah hendrick goode,  who is indicated to have been the wife of either my mackerness goode, sr or his son, our mackerness goode, jr but i cannot confirm this for sure for now.   hans hendrick, II' s amelia co, va will is from a site on the hendrick family, which can be found on line.   Hans Hendrick, II,  left a will in Amelia County dated 20 January 1773[28]. He named his wife Rachel, and two sons: Hance (the 3rd) and John. Daughters named in the will were Anne Hendrick, Elizabeth Osborne and Sarah Goode. The will was witnessed by Benjamin Hendrick (presumably his brother) and Obadiah and John Hendrick (presumably sons of Benjamin or Hance) as well as Thomas Osborne (presumably Elizabeths husband). Benjamin Hendrick and Thomas Osborne were named executors.   again, hans and margaret wynne hendrick were definitely also associated with the same families in laurens co, sc as my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers and his brother-in-law, our patrick cunningham/ ann harris.    here are some other of these laurens co, sc deeds, which, again, connect hans and margaret wynn hendrick, with our patrick cunningham/ ann harris and with my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers and/ or the same individuals in laurens co, sc.   Laurens Deed Book A, page 161, 1785,  david dickson of tyger river spartanburg co to patrick cunningham for 530 pds, 150 acres on the saluda and reedy river, b on john willard, hans hendrick, former property of hugh brown.  wit:  isaac mitchell; john elmore; robert brown; sarah cunningham.     laurens co, sc deed book C, page 215, 1790 john atkins of moore co, nc and wife margaret to george morgan for 100 pds, 179 acres part of 250 acre grant in 1768 to john willard on reedy river then bordered on john brown; john cargill; hance hendrick. wit:  lewis graves; middleton prater; james morgan.  george anderson, j. p.   laurens deed book E, page 438, 1774/ 1795, john willard and wife, martha, of 96th dist, sc to joseph atkins for 10 shillings 179 acres, part of 250 acre grant in 1768 on both sides of reedy river bordered on john brown; john cargill; hans hendrick. wit:  john cobb; william burgess; patrick cunningham. patrick cunningham, j.p.   this john willard, per the info, was the son-in-law of hans and margaret wynne hendrick.   as indicated, hans hendrick's land also bordered on john cargill.  this was john cargill, sr/ rachel tinsley also of lunenburg/ halifax co, va, son of cornelius cargill of lunenburg co, va.   it was john cargill, sr/ rachel tinsley's son cornelius cargill, who paid the tax/ memorial for my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers 1771, 150 acre grant there in laurens co, sc.  also, their son, thomas cargill was one of the purchasers at my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers 1800 laurens co, sc estate sale.   laurens deed book F, page 522, micajah hendrick to william winn hendrick for 50 pds, 300 acres on both sides of reedy river, orig grant to hans hendrick in 1774 and to micajah hendrick lawful heir.  wit:  john wait; elijah burgess; jacob niswanger.  lewis graves, j.p.    william wynne hendrick, son of hans and margaret wynne hendrick,  married a daughter of joel burgess.  elijah burgess was the son of joel burgess.    john wait married into the family of james and margaret rodgers anderson, who also moved from lunenburg/ charlotte co, va to laurens co, sc and margaret rodgers anderson was the sister of my john rodgers, esq, father of my frances rodgers harris.   hans hendrick, III, died intestate in this 96th dist/ laurens co, sc area but this is the will for his wife, margaret wynne hendrick:     Laurens Co, SC will book A-1, page 158, 1797, will of margaret hendrick. legatees:  2 sons:  micajah and william winn hendrick; 6 daus:  fanny turner; peggy forgy; rachel hendrick; mary burgess; elizabeth wright; martha willard. executor, friend, lewis graves. wit:  john middleton; jacob clemons; elizabeth sims.   this lewis graves, executor of margaret wynn hendrick's laurens co, sc will, was also one of the witnesses to patrick cunningham/ ann harris' 1796 laurens co, sc will along with memucan walker and sarah (harris?) cargill clary.     john wait;  john middleton; and sylvanus walker, jr,  were the appraisers of my william harris, jr's estate sale in 1800 in laurens co, sc.    john middleton also married into the family of james and margaret rodgers anderson, who was the sister of my john rodgers, esq, father of my frances rodgers harris.   again, they were the children of my andrew rodgers, sr, who died in 1755 in lunenburg, now charlotte co, va.   these, then, are/ were some very involved connections re hans hendrick of amelia co, va and his son hans hendrick/ margaret wynne with my harris and goode family, etc, not only there in this lunenburg/ amelia cos, va area, which also included the osbornes and this william harris/ martha osborne, but also on into laurens co, sc.   again, it continues to be a puzzle and a challenge to try and sort this all our re our harris families, and especially when it comes to all our william harrises, but, hopefully, we will continue to learn more and to figure this all out at some point.     belva harris cauthen harris dna group 8------26910
