One of the New Kent County genealogical websites has a list of the 1704 taxpayers in various counties of Virginia. Remember in 1704, there were NOT many counties beyond the Tidewater. _http://www.vagenweb.org/newkent/1704va.txt_ (http://www.vagenweb.org/newkent/1704va.txt) A number of Harris names appear, but, to confuse matters, there are three listings for a William Harris, all in New Kent Co. in 1704. Perhaps these were the men about whom Dr. Malcolm Hart Harris wrote an article, published in an old issue [or two] of The Virginia Genealogist. If pressed, I will find my citation to that article, published, I believe in two issues. If you want to see what else is on that website, chop off some of the last words in the above URL.
