    1. Re: [HARRIS-HUNTERS] HARRIS-HUNTERS Digest, Vol 3, Issue 318
    2. Well, Francis, I can empathize with you. I have been reading about DNA -- for males -- for years--the pros and cons, I also have been posting a lot, because after almost 3 decades of research, I find a lot of garbage on the internet. I have been brought up on books and microfilm, and some of the evidence that is produced in not well researched. Some geneticists scoff at our trying to prove our lineage with DNA. Since my Harris connection is through a female, and since t am the granddaughter of a woman born in Kent, England, who was the daughter of an English woman born in Suffolk and the granddaughter of another English woman, probably born in Suffolk, I am very reticent about making any statement about DNA connections!!! My research of many years indicates I am of the line of Robert Harris, surveyor of colonial Louisa Co. VA and his wife Mourning [probably Glen]. Robert is supposed to be a son of William Harris and Temperance Overton of Hanover Co., where many of the records were burned in the evacuation fire of Civil War era Richmond, Virginia. If that places me in a DNA group, so be it. It will be someone else's error, if that turns out to be a mistake. I don't think DNA testing is going to replace HARD research!!! Even when my historian cousin tries to point me the wrong way!!! E.W.Wallace In a message dated 12/12/2008 12:11:07 A.M. Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Today's Topics: 1.
