My male relatives have tested into a new group, 30. I believe that the only practical value of DNA testing is that if you can establish your male relative has a nearly perfect 25 or 37-marker DNA match with another Harris AND you can establish the identity of the common ancestor, then it would be possible to take advantage of their research, if it is well documented. It is also possible that the joint research undertaken to find the common ancestor could benefit the genealogical research of both participants by suggesting new areas of investigation.
