del   i only have time now to get into this very briefly and will say more later but i think your william harris of louisa/ goochland cos, va was related harris family and part of our captain thomas harris line and family.   it is, again, i believe, and which the info shows, my william harris/ judith hudson, who was the son of our william harris/ mary giles (?) and that your william harris of goochland co, va was the son of his brother, edward harris.   neither our william harris/ mary giles or his brother, edward harris, left wills and the only way that we are going to determine who their sons were is through our harris dna and their association with each other and these same individuals and families.   again, it is shown, per the records of hanover/ louisa/ goochland/ and brunswick/ lunenburg cos, va that our william harris/ mary giles had sons edward harris and david harris.    this was our william harris/ mary giles, who in 1725 obtained the patent for  these 400 acres on cubb creek in hanover, now louisa co, va  and these louisa co, va deeds state that edward harris and david harris were their sons.   again, william harris of brunswick co, va sold land there in louisa co, va to stephen harris and edward harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles, sold land to your william harris also of louisa/ goochland co, va, which he sold later to charles rice.   again, the deeds wherein william harris of brunswick co, va, who i definitely believe was my william harris/ judith hudson, sold land to stephen harris of hanover co, va and the deed wherein edward harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles, sold land to your william harris of louisa/ goochland co, va were recorded on the very same date in the louisa co, va court records.   this, to me, is definitely significant but it makes more sense  to me and/ or is more logical that the william harris, who was selling land there in louisa co, va was more probably the son of our william harris/ mary giles than the william harris who was buying it.   on the other hand, it still shows kinship, i believe, that your william harris of louisa/ goochland co, va would have bought this land from edward harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles.   again, there have been those, who have written about our harris families in the past and, again, i think we need to investigate what was written to see if we can determine whether what they wrote was accurate or not, etc, and/ or what they may have missed.   what kathryn wiggins had to say about our harris family is/ was different from what lee harris, etc, wrote.     again, she stated, per her compiled geneagraph re our captain thomas harris line and family, that it was my william harris/ judith hudson, who was the son of our william harris/ mary giles.   she does not state that his brother edward harris had a son, william harris, but that certainly does  not mean that he didn't.   she does state that his brother, edward harris, did have sons: thomas harris; robert harris, etc, and that it was his son robert harris, who was also a surveyor and who worked with his cousin david harris, who was a land dealer.    of course, this  was our david harris/ jane landy richardson, again, stated son of our william harris/ mary giles per these lousia co, va deeds.   again, the robert harris we are interested in, and who wiggins also said was a surveyor, is indicated to have stayed in this st martin's parish of hanover co, va area where you also find other of our harris family, like this stephen harris, etc, and who would not have been the robert harris of louisa/ albemarle cos, va who e.w. is interested in and who was the father of her christopher harris.   again, sad to say, we are missing most of the early new kent/ hanover co, va records, which would have helped us out a lot with this and these connections.   however, i still believe, again, it is going to be possible, per our harris dna and what records we do have, showing, again, their association with each other and these same individuals and families that we are going to be able to figure out who was who and who comes down from which brother, our william harris/ mary giles or his brother, edward harris and to also separate our harris family from that of william harris/ temperance overton, etc.   i will still add, however, as i also briefly look at some of these louisa co, va deeds that e.w. and others have posted and i have collected in my " draft box" that this is still complicated and none of us seem to know or have all of the answers for now.       belva harris cauthen harris dna group 8---------26910
