    3. again, the same joseph davenport, who witnessed these lunenburg co, va/ granville co, nc deeds re the mitchells and satterwhites to edmund taylor, who was the brother of col joseph taylor, who was the executor of robert harris/ lemender's granville co, nc will, was the same joseph davenport who moved to and died in newberry co, sc.   again, joseph davenport was the father-in-law of our samuel goode, son of my mackerness goode, sr and also of bartlett satterwhite, who, again, was part of this same satterwhite family who had both been in lunenburg co, va and granville co, nc.   SATTERWHITE, Michael Deed Book 5, Page 353 Michael SATTERWHITE and Amey, his wife, of Granville County, NC to Edmund TAYLOR of Lunenburg County .cons. 850 pounds . 1397 acres on south side of the Roanoke River . adjoining James LEWIS, James MITCHELL and John ROBINSON. Witnesses: David MITCHELL, Joseph DAVENPORT, Reuben MORSE (MORRIS). /s/ Michael SATTERWHITE /s/ Amey SATTERWHITE."   again, joseph davenport was the father-in-law of our samuel goode, son of my mackerness goode, sr and the following info, per the laurens co, sc patents for my william harris, sr/ frances goode; my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers; my mackerness goode, sr and his son our, mackerness goode, jr, which i have posted a number of times previously, joseph davenport paid the tax/ memorial for my mackerness goode, sr's 100 acre grant.   survey for mackerness goode, sr, pursuant to precept dated 1 march 1769, 100 acres in berkley county on the waters of the little river, bounded west by daniel osborne, east by mackernees goode, jr.  survey certified 21 june, 1769.  john caldwell, d.s.   memorial by mackerness goode, sr, in berkley co on waters of little river....certified 6 feb 1771 and granted 12 april 1771; quit rent to commence in 2 years.  signed 13 may 1771 by joseph davenport, delivered 7 oct 1773.  john caldwell,  d.s.   again, this laurens co, sc deed, also cited previously, shows that samuel goode was the oldest son of my mackerness goode, sr.   laurens co, sc deed book C, page 193, 1789, samuel goode, gentleman, to richard shackleford, pastor of the baptist chuch, for 100 pds, 100 acres on the little river, original grant 4/ 12/ 1771 to mackerness goode, sr, who died intestate and samuel goode, his heir at law.  witnesses:  joseph cox; francis brooks; alexander stewart.  silvanus walker, j.p. here is the newberry co, sc will for joseph davenport, showing that our samuel goode and barlett satterwhite were his son-in-laws.   5Aug1788 - Probate: Last Will & Testament of Joseph Davenport, made this date, probated 16May1791. Named daughter Rebecca Satterwhite to have 200 acres where she lives, Negro Dick, and bed; Jemima Satterwhite, daughter to Bartlett Satterwhite and Rebecca Satterwhite, to have Negro girl Annekey; daughter Amy Phillips to have Negroes James and Aggy, and certain chattel; granddaughters Edna and Jemina Goode, daughters of Samuel and Jemima Goode, to have Negroes Dina and Silva when Jemima shall arrive at age 16; grandson Joseph Phillips, son of John and Amy Phillips, to have Mulatto boy Bob; grandson Joseph Davenport, son of David and Hannah Davenport, to have L80 from Robert Gilliam and Benjamin Cobb, and 250 acres including the east side of the land whereon I now live, a bed, and a horse; Violet Welch [no identification], to have L3 per year for her natural life, a cow, a calf, and beef--to live in a small room in my house for as long she lives, and 250 pounds of flour and 100 pounds of beef and pork yearly; everything else to son David.
