Some Harris surnames, from various Virginia counties, for various times, appear in the Edward Pleasants Valentine Papers. The three volumes are online at these websites: HeritageQuest [available at some public libraries and I am told at some State Libraries] Also, Ancestry.com also has the images. The search engine is pretty good, but I have not yet mastered how to see the whole page. The name Harris is overlined [yellow bit is on top of the surname Harris.] Because my eyesight is not so good, I think I will try the version on HeritageQuest, but with Ancestry.com you can *share*--that is, I send an e-mail to myself for further study. There is a chapter on the Dabney family for those of you have reason to believe that you have a Dabney ancestress--first wife of Christopher Harris of Louisa and Albemarle Cos., VA and later of Madison Co., KY. Happy hunting!! By the way, before you jump to any conclusions, be sure to note the DATE and the PLACE of each abstracted entry. Timelines are great for straightening out some ancestors' activities. If there is a gap of ten years, you have more research to do!! E.W.Wallace always hunting--and hoping for the best conclusion! **************Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Read reviews on AOL Autos.
