In about 1753, Indian troubles caused him to dispose of his land there prior to the move to North Carolina, where he settled on Nutbush Creek. This land was granted on Ellibies Creek in then Orange Co., NC., which his will directed to be sold to pay debts of his estate. Richard Bullock died in Granville Co., NC, in 1764. His will was dated Oct. 27, 1764, and proved the next month, mentions children Sarah Sims, Agnes Williams, Zacharia, William, John, Susanna Sims, Agatha Nichols, Nathaniel, and Leonard Hendley Bullock. Daughter Anna married to Henry Vandyck was deceased. Nathaniel was willed the land and plantation whereon Richard lived after his mother's death, as well as half the remaining estate, Leonard receiving the other half, after bequests to the other children. Witnesses to his will included Philemon Hawkins, whose daughter Fannie married his son Leonard Henley Bullock.
