Captain John Glover's Company, October 8, 1754; William Chavers, Negro. William Chavers Jr., Mulatto. Gilbert Chavers, Mulatto. Edward Harris, Negro. These are the only Negro listed in Glover's Company or in any of the Granville Companies of Militia for that year, but there are some others listed as Mulatto. James E.
