Sandi Gorin, some years ago, contributed this biography of a Harris male, and it is available on this URL _http://files.usgwarchives.org/ky/madison/bios/harris293gbs.txt_ (http://files.usgwarchives.org/ky/madison/bios/harris293gbs.txt) I suggest when you read it, that you try to make a time line--or family group sheets--or whatever so you can determine who is who. There are several generations of Harrises here. Christopher Harris, mentioned in the last paragraph, was originally of Louisa Co., VA; Albemarle Co., VA and sometime about 1787 of Madison Co., KY. Christopher's first wife was Mary Dabney, as indicated in the will of Cornelius Dabney, mentioned a few weeks ago on Harris-Hunters. His second wife was Agnes McCord, whose family had formerly lived in Pennsylvania. Since Christopher's will lists about 19 children, he is the father-in-law of a good many folks. Christopher was one of the sons of Major Robert Harris, surveyor of Louisa Co., vestryman at times, and sometime member of the House of Burgesses.
