here, again, are the halifax co, va deeds showing that this william harris, wife, elizabeth, who pat seaver and sandy hart are interested in as being their harris ancestor, was also involved with this same rickman family there in halifax co, va, and which pat seaver had posted previously.   again, this is certainly both relevant and also amazing to me that this is/ was the same rickman/ blocker/ griffin family also involved with my harris and cannon familes.   i cannot think that it is merely coincidence that redding blocker, who would have been the great-grandson of edward kirksey/ rebecca rickman, daughter of this thomas rickman of halifax co, va, was adjacent my arch harris/ elizabeth carter, per this 1834 ga state census for cobb co, ga.   so, here, as i say, are the halifax co, va deeds which pat seaver had posted previously re her interest in this william harris, wife, elizabeth, who were also involved with the rickmans and the hudsons there in halifax co, va.   There was also a William Elizabeth Harris in Halifax Co, VA with a wife named Elizabeth: Halifax County, VA Deed Book 12 p. 310 30 sep 1782 from William  Harris of H, to Nathaniel Vasser of H, for 500 £, about 100 acres in  Halifax, and bounded by Nathaniel Frances, William Harris, Oliver Prindle.   Signed William Harris. Witnesses: John Stanley, William Harris, and Jane Harris. Recorded Feb. 19, 1784. pat seaver's post continued: There are numerous Halifax Co. records of this William Harris, who apparently came to Halifax Co. about 1778 from Amelia Co. and then  sold property to various other former Amelia Co. residents.  Records  also show that William and sons Barnard and Elijah moved to Patrick  Co, VA in the very early 1800s, where William died @1816. Based on the fact that this William Harris lived until about 1816 and  had a son (Barnard) born about 1768, I estimate William's DoB at  between 1725 and 1748.   I am interested in any information about William's pre-Halifax Co.  connections and how he might have been related to James Harris, John  Harris, Oliver Pringle and Nathaniel Vasser, all of Amelia Co.    Nathaniel Vassar is said to have been the son of Abraham and Rhoda  (Harris) Vassar and to have married Sarah Hudson, d/o Peter and  Mourning (Hill?) Hudson, Jr.   I believe that William Harris of  Amelia/Halifax/Patrick Co. was too young to be Rhoda (Harris)  Vassar's father.
