    1. Re: [HARRIS-HUNTERS] Robert Harris/James Harris/Richard Harris
    2. The location of William Hendrick/Hendricks in these documents is about the only clue that might lead to who these people are. He held borders with both Group 2 family of Nathan Harris/Sarah Knight and was also possibly near the William Harris/Mary Hudson who I think lived near Contrary Creek, which was also near Fluvanna at times. The changing county borders don't help locate these people. James Harris/Betsy Pharis are DNA Group 10, and his supposed birth ca1733 (?) does not fit the deed of 1724, so we need earlier people to fit a James Harris with wife Elizabeth. In addition,we are missing the orphans of Richard Harris who died ca 1735 or so. There does seem to be a second Richard Harris nearby after the death of the first one, so tentatively I am giving him Richard Harris, Jr. and working from there. Knowing that these families often had very close family ties and married cousins consistently, I have been able to connect the William Harris/Mary Hudson line to the Group 8 line of John Harris m to Jane Hambleton. Using this same line of cousins, I find connections to the Thomas Harris/Elizabeth said to be Lindsey line who is supposed to come from William Harris/Mary said to be Giles which, again, is testing to Group 8. The Group 8 line also tended to have multiple births, as did the line of William Harris/Mary Hudson (per the Douglas register record of three of their children's births) which has no male descendants left. There is also an early Robert Harris who only signs with a mark, so he is can't be the surveyor who would have needed to know how to read and write to be a surveyor, and the Robert Harris, Jr. you referenced in the 1724 deed can't be the son of that Robert Harris/Mourning Glenn, because that son is not born until ca 1746 by their records, and falls into DNA Group 6. This doesn't tell you who these people are, but it hopefully says something about who they are not. Pat **************One site has it all.
