    1. [HARRIS-HUNTERS] Harris/Bibb in Louisa County, VA

    3. I have been half-heartedly trying to sort out the Bibb family in Louisa County in the time frame that you are talking about below. When I first read the transcription of the deed below, I considered writing to the list to ask if anyone knew just where the land that is being talked about was located. Then I decided that I should try to figure it out for myself before requesting help. But if someone already understands what part of Louisa County we are looking at below, would you please save me the time that I would need to put in to figure it out? My Thomas R. Hawkins married Martha Bibb in 1839. I am looking at the land that they lived on for the rest of Martha's life. It is partly in Orange County and partly in Louisa County at Mallory's Ford. I believe that Martha may have brought this land to the marriage and that it had been Bibb land before it came to be owned by T.R. Hawkins. It would be helpful for me to know have information about Bibb land in the early 1800's. Martha's father was Benjamin Bibb (1746-1835) who was married to Agnes tate according to other researchers. Besides the Bibb siblings to Martha: John, Richard, Benjamin there is a man named John Ellis who also seems to be involved with this Bibb family as an adminstrator or executor...can't do that from memory.
