    1. [HARRIS-HUNTERS] re this william harris/ cawthons/ crenshaws, etc,
    2. pat    i am somewhat confused here as i just finished talking about this myself.   this william harris processioned with the cawthons and crenshaws is indicated to have been the same william harris of hanover/ louisa/ goochland cos, va, who our edward harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles, sold these 50 acres to, and which this william harris, in turn, sold these same 50 acres to charles rice in 1757 in goochland co, va.   see my recent posts as they are too long to re-post here.   this william harris, then, per the info and as shown, was the same william harris of louisa/ goochland cos, va, whose daughter agness harris married john cawthon and their daughter mary cawthon married david alvis.    again, i have also just talked about and cited these louisa co, va deeds from deed book A, pages 105/ 106 and pages 107/ 108,  which i have recently obtained actual copies of these deeds, wherein my william harris/ judith hudson, who on august 3rd, 1743, and who was definitely in brunswick co, va sold these 62 acres there in louisa co, va to stephen harris of hanover co, va.   then, again, on august 5th, and, again, these are subsequent deeds, our edward harris/ ann, son of our william harris/ mary giles, sold these 50 acres to this other william harris, also of louisa co, va, who, again, was the same william harris, who was in goochland co, va and who, again, sold these same 50 acres to charles rice in 1757.   again, this william harris/ mary of louisa/ goochland cos, va is also shown to have been the parents of this gilliam harris/ susannah and the sherwood harris/ hannah page, as well, as, again, agnes harris, who married agnes cawthon.   again, it was this william taylor of old lyme connecticut, whose wife, descended from sherwood harris/ hannah page, who had written earlier that this william harris/ mary was the son, william, of our william harris/ mary giles.   he was wrong because, again, these louisa co, va deeds prove and my brother david harris' dna, etc, that this was my william harris/ judith hudson of brunwick/ lunenburg/ mecklenburg co, va, father of my william harris, sr/ frances goode, who was the son of our william harris/ mary giles and brother of stephen harris, your husband's tom harris' ancestor, david harris/ jane landy richardson, etc.   i just proposed the idea, however, that this william harris of hanover/ louisa/ goochland cos, va who, again, was processioned with the cawthons, etc, and who was also, as shown involved, with the alvis family, may have been the son of our william harris/ mary giles' brother, edward harris.   again, the entirety of my posts are too long and too involved to repost here but here is an item from one of them, showing that this was john cawthons/ agnes harris' daughter, mary cawthon, who married david alvis in goochland co, va.   This is in response to a message over three years old, but for what its worth here goes. I have a Mary Cauthon married to David Alvis Jr (son of David Alvis Sr and grandson of George Alvis) on August 20 1768 in St James, Northam Parish, Goochland County, Virginia according to the Douglas Register. Could this be the Mary Cawthon listed in your message, daughter of John and Agnes Harris Cawthon?   again, bill brandon, who descends from john cawthon/ agnes harris, replied that this was so and that this was his john cawthon/ agnes harris' daughter, mary cawthon, who did marry david alvis there in goochland co, va.   here again, is also the info from the hanover co, va records, showing that our edward harris, brother of our william harris/ mary giles, also became the guardian of david alvis.  this david alvis would have been the son of george alvis/ mary crenshaw, and i think the father of david alvis, who married mary cawthon.   again, george alvis  married alice, widow of our major william harris, who was killed by the indians in 1678 in henrico co, va and who were the parents of our william harris/ mary giles b ca 1672 and his brother, edward harris b ca 1674.   again, our alice and her sons, our william harris/ mary giles and his brother, edward harris, moved with george alvis to new kent/ hanover co, va and they were brought up by their step-father, george alvis.   again, after our alice died, george alvis is stated to have married mary crenshaw and to have had one son, david alvis.     hanover co, va further deeds and wills: 1734: charles chiswell; richard clough; and michael holland meet, the parties being absent, in the case of david crenshaw, lately guardian of david alvis, enfant, versus edward harris, his present guardian. the estate of david alvis, orphan of george alvis, deceased, is brought to court and recorded. david crenshaw, administrator of the estate of mary alvis, deceased, which owes david alvis 10 pds, october 1734. the estate of mary alvis pays out to: thomas prosser; john bowie; thomas grant; richard farrar or farmer; thomas johnson; john williamson and others, may 25, 1732-march 21, 1733.   so, again, i am confused------i cannot see how the william harris, who was processioned with the cawthons; and crenshaws could have both been the same william harris/ mary of hanover/ louisa/ goochland cos, va and whose daughter, agnes harris married john cawthon, etc, and the same william harris, who also married mary hudson???   in fact, in re-checking i have re- noted that peggy had earlier that her william harris/ mary hudson was the son of william harris/ henrietta baker.  is this now also wrong?     From: [email protected] Subject: Re: [HARRIS-HUNTERS] HARRIS-HUNTERS Digest, Vol 2, Issue 38 Date: Thu, 15 Feb 2007 09:47:53 EST Hello [email protected], In reference to your comment: Peggy, what's your Kit #? The William Gunter name might point to Wiliam Harris/Mary Hudson  connections, as their daughter Susannah Harris b 1758 married into the  Gunter family. ))))))
