again, because of on-going conflict, controversy, and confusion, i have been on harris hunters for quite some time now talking about my/ our specific harris line and family and what i am going to repeat and talk about here, i may still want to come on and talk about yet again in more detail. again, i have recently obtained actual copies of these two louisa co, va deeds wherein my william harris/ judith hudson, who were in brunswick co, va in 1743, sold 62 acres in louisa co, va to his brother, stephen harris, of st martin's parish, hanover co, va and also the deed wherein edward harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles and also brother of my william harris/ judith hudson, also in 1743 sold 50 acres to this other william harris/ mary of louisa/ goochland co, va. the louisa co, va deed re my william harris/ judith hudson to stephen harris was filed on august 3rd, 1743 and was witnessed by richard henderson; james woody; and john adams and, again, the deed states that, at this time, my william harris/ judith hudson were in brunswick co, va when he sold this land in louisa co, va to stephen harris. again, my william harris/ judith hudson lived in 1743 in the area of brunswick co, va, which, then, became lunenburg co, va in 1746 and, in fact, it would have also been in this same area, which later became halifax co, va. the louisa co, va deed wherein our edward harris/ ann, son of our william harris/ mary giles, sold this land to this other william harris states that they were both in louisa co, va and this deed was filed on august 5th, 1743. there were no witnesses to this deed. again, these are/ were consecutive deeds in louisa co, va deed book A. the deed re edward harris to this other william harris was recorded first and can be found in louisa co, va deed book A, pages 105/ 106. the subsequent deed wherein my william harris/ judith hudson, who were in brunswick co, va, and who sold these 62 acres to stephen harris of hanover co, can be found in louisa co, va deed book A, pages 107/ 108. then, both of these deeds were, then, recorded in louisa co, va court orders book on september 12th, 1743. again, what these deeds definitely show is that my william harris/ judith hudson of brunswick, then, lunenburg/ mecklenburg co, va was an entirely different william harris from this william harris who our edward harris sold these 50 acres to and who was also in louisa co, va. again, these deeds also show, and confirmed by my brother david harris' harris dna, that my/ our william harris/ judith hudson was the son, william, of our william harris/ mary giles. also, the fact that my william harris/ judith hudson and his brother, edward harris, sold this land almost on the very same day and as consecutive deeds, suggests or even indicates that this may have been when their father, our william harris/ mary giles had died. we also know that this william harris/ mary of louisa co, va was the same william harris/ mary also of goochland co, va because a 1757/ 1758 goochland co, va deed shows that this same william harris/ mary sold these same 50 acres sold to him by our edward harris to charles rice. here, again, is a copy of this goochland co, va deed re this other william harris to charles rice. 2 November 1757 William Harris of St. John's Parish, Goochland Co., to Charles Rice of Hanover Co. 24 pounds, 50 acres and plantation in Fredericksville Parish; part of a greater tract which Edward Harris sold to William Wadkens/ Watkins ...Captain Dabney's corner. William [X] Harris Witnesses: William Terrill , Israel Burnley , Charles Pears, Thos. East. 28 February 1758 proved by oaths of William Terrill, Israel Burnley and Thos. East. George II to Thomas Starke and George Payne, Gentlemen. Power granted to take acknowledgement of Mary Harris, who is so impotent that without great danger of her body she cannot travel to the Court of our said County. 4 March 1758 James Littlepage Clk. Court 10 May 1758 We, the subscribers went to within named Mary Harris, who freely made acknowledgement. Thomas Starke, George Payne again, and i have also talked about these things previously and in somewhat detail but, again, also bears repeating. my william harris/ judith hudson, per his 1778 mecklenburg co, va will, did have a son, sherwood harris but--------- the sherwood harris, who married hannah page in 1761 in goochland co, va was NOT the son of my william harris/ judith hudson but, instead, he is shown to have been the son of this william harris/ mary of goochland co, va and who are also indicated to have been the parents of this gilliam harris, wife, susannah; and also of agnes harris, who married john cawthon. i have also said that given the associations this william harris/ mary of louisa/ goochland cos, va had with our captain thomas harris' harris family and george alvis' son or grandson, david alvis also there in goochland co, va, etc, that it is very possible that this william harris/ mary was also related and part of our captain thomas harris line and family. again, however, both this william harris/ mary of hanover/ louisa/ goochland cos, va and my william harris/ judith hudson of hanover/ louisa/ brunswick/ lunenburg/ mecklenburg cos, va, who are indicated to have been contemporaries and both born ca 1700, could not, again, have possibly been the william harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles, and, again, the only way that this could possibly work out is that this william harris/ mary of louisa/ goochland co, va was the son of our william harris/ mary giles' brother, edward harris. again, there is quite a lot to suggest this because, again, edward harris, brother of our william harris/ mary giles, is shown himself to have been more involved with david alvis. again, after our major william harris was killed by the indians in 1678 in henrico co, va, his widow, our alice, mother of our william harris/ mary giles and his brother, edward harris, remarried george alvis and moved with him and her sons to new kent/ hanover cos, va. then, after our alice harris alvis died, george alvis is stated to have re-married mary crenshaw and had one son, david alvis. the records of hanover co, va show that there was a dispute re our edward harris, brother of our william harris/ mary giles, with david crenshaw re the guardianship of david alvis and that our edward harris was named as his guardian. this is also from kathryn wiggins: harris papers: new kent/ hanover cos, va: hanover co, va further deeds and wills: 1734: charles chiswell; richard clough; and michael holland meet, the parties being absent, in the case of david crenshaw, lately guardian of david alvis, enfant, versus edward harris, his present guardian. again, there is certainly info to strongly suggest and to indicate that this william harris/ mary of louisa/ goochland co, va was also related and part of our captain thomas harris' harris line and family and son of our william harris/ mary giles' brother, edward harris, but in order to confirm this, a harris descendant of this william harris/ mary of louisa/ goochland cos, va and/ or their son, sherwood harris/ hannah page, etc, needs to be found to also participate in our harris dna project. to be continued: belva harris cauthen harris dna group 8---------26910
