this earlier post by william flake joiner says that sarah abigail harris, also called alse harris, wife of samuel flake of anson co, nc, was the daughter of stephen harris, who by 1750 had moved to amelia co, va.   also another post by deborah hoffman on the harris forum post no 9561 also states that sarah abigail flake was the daughter of stephen harris.    ( of course stephen harris, indicated to have also been one of the sons of our william harris/ mary giles, was not the son of our captain thomas harris but would rather have been his great-grandson------bhc)   again, this is on harris forum post # 9561 by deborah hoffman:   Hello and Happy New Year, It looks like we are searching the same line. In following Samuel FLAKE's migrations, we know that he was in Isle of Wight, VA as early as 1715 and was in central VA (Amelia Co, I think in the 1750s) finally arriving in Anson Co., NC by 1762 with his second (or third) wife, Alse HARRIS. Cpt. Thomas HARRIS' line is well documented to include his GG Granddaughter Alse HARRIS, daughter of Stephen HARRIS (1714-aft 1770). Stephen HARRIS and his family were in Amelia County, VA by 1750. Stephen HARRIS' daughter Alse was a first cousin of Sherwood/Sherrod HARRIS (1733-1805) of Anson Co., NC. Sherwood/Sherrod HARRIS was the son of Stephen HARRIS' brother William HARRIS (1710-1770). There was evidently a connection between the family of Samuel FLAKE and the family of Sherwood HARRIS due to the witnessing of deeds, wills, etc. Samuel FLAKE and Alse HARRIS' son Jordan FLAKE witnessed the will of Sherwood/Sherrod HARRIS.
