Thank you so much for the information. I corrected my entry. I don't know where I got the Mary Jefferson as Thomas' mother. Thank you all for the great information and advice. It took me a long time to find out there are two Benjamin Harrises both with father Thomas Harris. My Benjamin Harris father was a Thomas Harris who married a Mary unknown. So far there is no proof of my Benjamin Harris' father Thomas ancestry. You might want to do a search in the book, History of Louisa County, written by Dr. Malcolm Hart Harris. It has a lot of detail about those Harrises but is in error about the ancestry of the Capt. Thomas Harris, immigrant, being son of Sir William Harris of Cricksey, England. A lot of us have been researching the Harris families in VA for a long time. Pat Clare's message today to Harris Hunters was correct. My Harris ancestors moved from the Powhatan County to somewhere in Tennessee and then on to Missouri and Arkansas. Two of my Benjamin's sons and my Joseph's brothers, Francis Eppes and Richard were Revolutionary War soldiers and ended up in Alabama. Not much help there for your NC Harrises. Ann Epps Harris is in the DAR book and is my DAR ancestor. My Brother, Lynn Harris, DNA kit is the unmatched #74028. Close to two others there but no common ancestor we can find.
