hi peggy   no, i do not have a marriage record for my william harris, sr/ frances goode and it has been a really long process of my determining this.    in fact, i do not have a marriage records for any of my harrises until my great-grandfather martin alonzo harris married my great-grandmother amanda allen in 1874 in paulding co, ga.   again, given that we do not always have marriage records,  this goes back to my just saying that we have to go to other sources to try and determine, if we can, who their wives were and their fathers, etc.   again, i am convinced that my william harris, sr's wife, frances, was frances goode, daugher of my mackerness goode, sr also of lunenburg co, va and laurens co, sc, based on the info and a long time of my studying all this and that this is what the info definitely does show and indicate and i have talked  a good bit about this already on harris hunters.   i am not quite sure who the wives of my harrises were has to do with the fact that there has been and continues to be this confusion between our william harris/ mary giles and william harris/ temperance overton.   speaking of, is there a marriage record for william harris/ temperance overton?  are there any deeds for william harris, showing that he had a wife, named, temperance?  did he leave a will naming temperance  (overton) as his wife?   on what basis has it been determined that there was a william harris/ temperance overton?   this is what i am asking and once that question has been asked, and can be successfully determined that even given that there is/ was no marriage record, no deeds, no will or any other info actually stating that there was a william harris with a wife, temperance overton, that despite having none of this, we can still successfully conclude that there was a william harris/ temperance overton-----   then, we are still left with the confusion between william harris/ temperance overton and our william harris/ marriage giles and, again, our trying to determine ------   was it william harris/ temperance overton who was the vestryman and who was called mr and captain william harris or was it our william harris/ mary giles and was it only william harris/ temperance overton who was called mr and/ or captain, etc?     belva harris cauthen harris dna group 8--------26910
