again, it is my william harris, sr/ frances goode who is definitely shown, and confirmed by this 1750 dodson survey for this land on wynn creek for william harris, sr and jr, to have been the son of my william harris/ judith hudson.   it is my  william harris/ judith hudson of brunswick/ lunenburg co, va who, again, per this 1743 brunswick co, va deed re this land sold in louisa co, va to stephen harris of st martin's parish, hanover co, va , and per my/ our harris dna, who is also definitely indicated, and confimed, to have been the william harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles, brother of  our related david harris/ jane landy richardson; edward harris/ ann; george harris; stephen harris, etc.   neither our william harris/ mary giles or his brother edward harris, sons of our major william harris and his 2nd wife, alice, who re-married george alvis, left wills or estate papers.     so, it is going to be through our individual and combined efforts re our research and, again, confimed by our harris dna, that we are going to be able to figure out who were the sons of our william harris/ mary giles and his brother edward harris.   again, i have spent almost 30 years now researching primarily my harris family and their ancestry.     at one time or another i have had several files on the southern harris families and besides my coming on  harris hunters and talking about my harris specific harris line and  family because of the controversy i have encountered,  i have never found anything written about our specific harris line and family and very few interested in them and no one who knew more about them.   for example,  before i focused on this lunenburg/ mecklenburg co, va area,  i spent over 10 years even earlier focusing also on laurens co, sc.     early on after i had gotten my/ our harris and carter families back to laurens co, sc, i corresponded briefly with a descendant of our william harris, jr/ frances rodgers whose daughter sarah goode harris married her john mc laughlin.   as she knew nothing more about her mc laughlin family or our harris family there in laurens co, sc or their ancestry, we only corresponded briefly.    she also believed that either our william harris, sr or jr did have some connection with our mackerness goode there in laurens co, sc    in fact, the following laurens co, sc deed also connects her john mc laughlin with our mackerness goode, sr or jr.   laurens co, sc deed book E, page 397, 1795, stephen mullings to william reynolds for 20 pds sterling, 50 acres on the beaverdam creek of little river, grant by pinckney in 1792, bordered on chesnut, zachariah hall, mackerness goode.  witnesses:  whitfield wilson, john mc laughlin. george anderson, j.p.   as an aside, this stephen mullings married into the same edward garrett family as johnson harris, son of edward harris, jr, son of edward harris, sr also of lunenburg/ charlotte co, va.   again, we are a harris dna group 8 match with edward harris, sr of lunenburg/ charlotte cos, va whose sons, stephen harris and edward harris, jr also moved to laurens co, sc.   the following laurens co, sc deeds show stephen mullings and johnson harris' connection with this same garrett family and also johnson harris with his father, edward harris, jr.   laurens co, sc deed book H, page 205, 1807, anna garrett and legatees of edward garrett, decd, to the upper branches of duncan's creek church and their successors, one acre where the warrior creek meeting now stands. witnesses:  reuben kelley; george hughes; william garrett; johnson harriss.   johnson harris married anna garrett, daughter of edward garrett and his wife, anna.   laurens co, sc deed book J, page 132, 1810, edward harriss to johnson harriss for $400, 150 acres on warrior creek bordered on william vaughan, part of grant in 1771 to john cox.  witnesses:  reuben vaughan; salley garrett. stephen garrett, j.p.      i also learn from mary, who, again, descends from her/ our john and sarah goode harris mc lauglin that the fact that her/ our sarah goode harris mc lauglin was named sarah "goode" harris mc laughlin was on her tombstone in perry co, al and that the "goode" name had been carried down in her mc laughlin family.    another thing i also learned from mary is that we also have the same/ related cannon family.   my charles harris, son of my william harris, jr/ frances rodgers and father of my archibald harris/ elizabeth carter, married in 1807 in pendleton co, sc my jane cannon, daughter of my richard cannon/ elizabeth cole, son of my simcock cannon.   mary descend from our richard cannon's/ elizabeth coles brother russell cannon also of pendleton co, sc via his son william cannon of kemper co, ms.     her james mc laughlin, son of her/ our john and sarah goode harris mc laughlin married 1st in perry co, al serena tubb; married 2nd in kemper co, ms her celia cannon, daughter of william cannon/ selah/ celia barton, who were also from pendleton co, sc.   the info per the lunenburg/ charlotte co, va records show that my william harris, sr/ frances goode was also involved with edward harris, sr and/ or the same individuals also there but edward harris, sr is NOT shown to have been the father of my william harris, sr/ frances goode.   instead, these lunenburg/ mecklenburg  co, va deeds and records  show that my wiliam harris, sr/ frances goode my william harris, sr/ frances goode was primarily involved with his father, my william harris/ judith hudson and these same individuals and families.   then, again, there is this 1750 halfax co, va dodson survey for this land on wynn creek for william harris, sr and jr, which became a patent to my william harris, sr/ frances goode which confirms, per the records, that my william harris, sr/ frances goode was the son of my william harris/ judith hudson.   of course, i am still hopeful that i will still be able to locate another harris descendant of one of the other sons of my william harris/ judith hudson to also participate in the harris dna project.   i have thought, and still do, given the controversy i have encountered and as i am the only one who has worked on my/ our specific harris line and family, that it was important for me to come on harris hunters and to talk about my research and what i know and i have noted.   again, i still do not have all the answers but i do know what my research has definitely shown and indicated to me and, again that it is:    that it was my william harris, sr/ frances goode who was the son of my william harris/ judith hudson also of lunenburg/ mecklenburg co, va and that it was my william harris/ judith hudson who was the son of our william harris/ mary giles.   i also, though, want to still talk about this william harris/ mary of goochland co, va because i believe the info does show that he is/ was also probably part of our captain thomas harris' harris line and family and that this william harris/ mary of hanover/ louisa/ goochland co, va is indicated to have been the son of edward harris, brother of our william harris/ mary giles.   again, it is also indicated to have been this william harris/ mary of goochland co, va who was the father of this sherwood harris/ hannah page;
