Thank you, E. W.! I always enjoy your thoughtful and constructive responses. They are very helpful and much appreciated. Concerning Martin Duncan (of Albemarle Co., Va., 1748): Yes, I am familiar with him and believe him to be a kin to my Duncan ancestors but have not yet been able to identify his connection. He and his wife, Mary, are mentioned a couple of times in "The Diary of Robert Rose" (1703-1751, Scottish colonial parson.) One excerpt mentions that "Martin Duncan and his wife Mary were indentured servants of William Cabell." I would be interested in knowing more about that relationship. George Duncan (abt. 1728 Scotland -1783 Fluvanna Co., Va.), brother to my John Duncan (Baptist minister, d. 1806 Augusta Co., Va.), married Ann Hall at Warminster, the home of William Cabell in Albemarle Co., Va. Thanks again for the many tips. I will be working more on trying to find the connections between my early Duncan and Harris ancestors from Amherst, Buckingham and Albemarle Cos. in Virginia. Have a great day! Dave Duncan Ohio
