Ann Harris [email protected] ken, thanks for posting the anson co, nc will of sherrod/ sherwood harris. again, i think these sherwood harrises have been very confused and i am sure i cannot sort this all out myself at this point. to begin with, and as i have talked about previously, i am not sure that the sherwood harris, who married hannah page and the sherwood harris who married elizabeth tillman are/ were the same sherwood harris. again, the sherwood harris, who married hannah page in 1761 in goochland co, va, is definitely indicated/ shown to have been the son of william harris/ mary who was also in goochland co, va and who also had a son gilliam harris. again, this is/ was also the same william harris whose daughter agnes harris married john cawthon and also the same william harris, who edward harris, son of our william harris/ mary giles, sold 50 acres to in louisa co, va, which this william harris sold to charles rice. the sherwood harris, who married elizabeth tilliman in brunswick co, va, may have been the son of william harris/ judith hudson. the fact that sherwood harris in anson co, nc had sons tillman harris and hutson/ hudson harris would indicate to me that this was the sherwood harris, who married elizabeth tillman but that he was not the same sherwood harris who married hannah page. one of the things we need, other than research on these sherwood harrises, of course, is harris dna from these sherwood harrises and their descendants. here are excerpts from this rootsweb post talking about the connections of sherwood harris and his sons tillman harris and hudson harris with the slaughter family in richmond/ anson co, nc.
