Dear Ira, This is just to comment that Capt. Thomas Harris is NOT the progenitor of every colonial Harris family in Virginia. Everybody wants to connect to him. (Just like all Gates families want to connect to Sir Thomas Gates, early Virginia settler.) I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the genealogy, but the latest edition of ADVENTURERS OF PURSE AND PERSON, compiled by John Frederick Dorman, noted Virginia genealogist and published for the First Families of Virginia, I believe, if memory serves, lists the first four generations of this family. This is a very expensive book. Best to try to beg it from your FFV friends or interlibrary loan it. It probably would have to be read in your public library and not allowed to be checked out. At any rate, to find out about Curles, the place, I recommend that all interested parties do a www.google.com search and type in curles neck farm. There is photo of a lovely country estate (priced at several millions of dollars) and then there is some history of that area--info about Randolph, Bacon, et al. Happy hunting! Remember, not every Harris in colonial Virginia is descended from Thomas Harris!!!! E.W.Wallace
I did a www.google.com search for the surname Loggins but I typed in "loggins family" There is a Loggins Family Genealogy Forum--it was about the 3rd or 4th item down. Perhaps you can post your message there. We Harris hunters have a more difficult time, don't we? E.W.Wallace Some friends got back recently from a trip to the Allen Co. [Indiana] Public Library at Fort Wayne, and they said they loved it. The books are now on open shelves while the former library is undergoing renovations, I am told. Do you ever get there? It might be fun for someone in Indiana to at least scan their online catalog. Other researchers tell me they use PERSI, the periodical index compiled by Allen Co. PL, and they order articles from these periodicals. I believe PERSI is now on Ancestry.com It used to be the CD-ROM cost about $100 but it is updated every year as new genealogical articles are cataloged. They advise me that the turnaround time (between receipt of request and requester's receipt of the photocopy) is short. EWW

Judith Harris, d/o Robert Harris of "Ware Creek", York County, Virginia was born abt. 1665 in New Kent County, Virginia. In 1685 she supposedly married Jeff Robertson. Did they have children. If so, what are their names? Where did they live? When did they die? I am seeking any information concerning this couple. Please respond through HH or H-COLONIALVA so that others may be helped.
