Seeking husband or descendents of Phebe (maiden name unknown) Harris. She was living in Sumter Co., GA at the time if the 1850 census. Family legend has it that they lived in Cobb Co., GA, and were originally from Harris Island in Scotland. Phebe is shown with the following children all born in GA: Nancy b 1827 Hilliard b 1828 (he is married and his wife Elizabeth is living in the same household) June or Jane b 1831 Jefferson b 1833 Lydia b 1835 James b 1836 Rebecca b 1838 Benton or Burton b 1840 Georgia Ann b 1842 Arminada b 1844 Family stories say this family lived for a while in or around Atlanta. Hilliard and Elizabeth McCorkle Harris, and his sister Lydia, had migrated to southeast Arkansas before 1861. It is believed that Hilliard went back to GA in 1861 to sign up to fight with CSA friends and family. I have much to share on this line. Teresa Harris
