    3. Could anyone confirm this place of marriage. Also this sounds like a great place to learn all ahout the family if you could make it. Fonda Subject: Perdema Harrelson . . . Dear Fonda, If you are a descendant of Perdema Woodfin Harrelson I have her marriage date as SEP-04-1874 . . . probably in Sullivan County, MO, but that I can't say for sure. I can tell you though that her mother was JANE Bingham, rather than Mary June, and that her mother was named after her grandmother, Jane (Gilmore) Bingham. Jane Bingham's parents were Anna Hoover & Samuel Bingham. Anna Hoover was a daughter of Jacob Hoover & Jemima Broyles and a granddaughter of Matthias Hoover for whom Hoover's Gap is named and if you are a descendant you are invited to . . . . February 21, 2002 From: Winford A. Hoover 511 S. Waco Russellville, AR 72801 Dale A. Hoover 2113 Wheaton Drive Richardson, TX 75081 Dear Hoover Cousins: In July of last year we, Winford A. Hoover and Dale A. Hoover, visited Hoovers Gap, Tennessee, near Murfreesboro. We were searching out our roots, knowing our family came from there after a very early beginning in Pennsylvania. Our trip was a huge success, to say the least. We called and saw several distant relatives, all descendants of Matthias Hoover and we visited four or five cemeteries, looking for Hoover names on gravestones. We found them in every cemetery. In fact, two of them were HOOVER cemeteries, one very old and one a bit more recent. Our great-great-great-great grandfather is buried not far from Hoovers Gap Church, but we never found it. Now we know the location after talking by phone with a distant cousin, Dot Hoover. One highlight of our visit there was meeting Reverend David Ash, Pastor of Hoovers Gap Church. We also met others who were at the church with him on that day. Mr. Ash was most helpful, offering to aide us in our desire to touch base with the past. Now, to get to the point and purpose of this letter: Rev. Ash agreed to give us a sort of get acquainted gathering at the church on Sunday, March 24, 2002. He promises to have Hoovers "coming out of the woodwork" at this event As we understand the plans, we would attend the a.m. service, then have our meeting, complete with a pot-luck meal with them, provided by local church people in their Fellowship Hall. This trip should be exciting and wonderful for us and we sincerely hope you can be there. It would be great to be together where our common ancestors lived in the very early days. Since we know our way around there pretty well we will be happy to "show and tell" to help everyone know the area. Our plans are to arrive on Friday, March 22. You could arrive that day or even March 23. Please do your best to be there for this wonderful, once in a lifetime event. Hoovers Gap (and church) is about 12 miles from Murfreesboro TN. The most convenient motel is Super 8 Motel, 127 Chaffin Place, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 Fax 615-867-5002, Phone 615-867-5000. The highway to Hoovers Gap is close by. We recommend you stay there if it is possible for you to make the trip. Please pass this information on to others who might be interested. Obviously we don't know everyone and don't know the address of some of those we do know. This trip will be a dream come true thanks to Pastor Ash and members of Hoovers Gap Church. If you need further information, you may contact either us by phone: SEE YOU THERE! Sincerely, Winford A. Hoover, 501-968-1489 Dale A. Hoover, 971-234-1661
